报告人简介:
Nick Pepin is a climate scientist, primarily concerned with understanding the rates and implications of climate change in mountainous regions of the globe. He is best known for recent work on elevation-dependent-warming (EDW) and he has collaborated with scientists across the world in understanding the factors which control how high mountains are currently responding to greenhouse forcing (Nature Climate Change). He is also interested in cold air drainage and the reversal of the normal lapse rate, and modelling/measuring this phenomenon with high density networks of sensors in mountain valleys. The focus also has been on obtaining better information on the spatial and temporal variation in surface temperature and moisture fields using networks of meteorological sensors.
